Yesterday I achieved 10,000 steps using my Health App on my phone. It measures your steps as you walk, I never used it before and didn’t realise it was measuring my steps, but it was.
However just read an article called:
In the article it talks about test they done with Active 10, and they found doing faster pace walking for 10 minutes gain more fitness than doing 10,000 steps a day.
For me though walking has really helped me gain my fitness back and it is walking at a fast pace, and seeing 10,000 has made me measure my progress, so for me it has benefited me doing that amount of steps.
I am also doing exercise at home with my new Mat and dumbbells. I do leg exercises, obliques, core work and toning my arms.
Now I have diabetes it has made me monitor my nutrition and exercise on a more regular basis, to get back to eventually where I was before.
It is going to be hard around Christmas time with the food and drink, but again I am going to monitor carefully how much I consume in my body and really work hard on my fitness and plan my workouts and stick to them as much as possible.
So are you too walking go gain your fitness back or have you started walking to get fitter? I would love to hear from you.
Many thanks for reading,
